I'm enjoying learning ASL. I've learned how to sign the process of working with and training birds of prey.
Learning new languages opens the mind to many other languages. For me, wrapping my mind around the complex grammatical structures in ASL has helped me learn basic calculus on my own.
That's why I love linguistics. Learning new languages is a gateway to many other languages. And that changes our brains. Yes, I'm a fan of linguistic relativity (Sapir-Whorf hypothesis).
I'm excited to continue learning ASL because I'm hard of hearing from Ménière's disease. And I also become nonverbal when I'm overwhelmed from autism.
